Sociedade Astronômica Brasileira
 
«A Sociedade Astronômica Brasileira (SAB) foi fundada em 1974 pela comunidade de astrônomos brasileiros e desde então tem promovido reuniões anuais para discussões de trabalhos científicos, além da promoção de simpósios, reuniões de trabalho e servir de contato com os órgãos vinculados à pesquisa no país. Atualmente, a SAB conta com aproximadamente 400 sócios. Destes, aproximadamente, 200 sócios são portadores do título de Doutor em Ciências, ou estão em vias de obter a titulação.»
