		California Academy of Sciences. «David Becker has lived on a sailboat in the Western Pacific for more than 20 years. He is currently based in New Caledonia, just south of Vanuatu. He specializes in cultural photography, working with museums and other cultural institutions, primarily in Melanesia. Sailing through Papua New Guinea for eight months in 1986, Becker saw how rapidly traditional cultures were being changed by contact with the outside world. 	Benedicte Wrensted: An Idaho Photographer in Focus

Smithsonian Institution. «The remarkable photography of Benedicte Wrensted (1859-1949) lay in obscurity for decades until brought to light by the detective work of Smithsonian anthropologist Joanna Cohan Scherer. In 1984, while researching photographs for the Smithsonian's Handbook of North American Indians, Scherer found a collection of glass plate negatives at the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) in Washington, DC.
