En 1970, la S.C.T. a décidé la création d'un Groupe d'Etudes de Structure-Activité "GESA" pour favoriser les rencontres et discussions entre jeunes chercheurs. Ce groupe, devenu autonome, poursuit régulièrement ses rencontres annuelles. La Société de Chimie Thérapeutique a favorisé et patronné en 1976 la formation d'un groupe européen : QSAR, "Quantitative Structure Activity Relationships".Ce groupe a organisé plusieurs années consécutives une école d'été, dont les premières se sont tenues en France à la Faculté de Pharmacie de Clermont-Ferrand (13-25 septembre 1976), et à la Faculté de Pharmacie de Grenoble (Septembre 1977).»
