«Research Activities: Biochemistry of plants and natural compounds, with medical and food (functional foods) properties (focus on crops and seeds used in traditional nutrition). Sugars, lipids, antioxidants and omega-3, biological role in foods and possible biotechnological applications. At the same time we wish to contribute to the comprehension of molecular basis in omega-3 biosynthesis and the identification of the genes and enzymes that participate in biosynthesis process.»
