Descripción: «The CGIA was formed in 1994 based on a recommendation put forth in the Report of the Geographic Information Task Force. Since its inception, CGIA has been active in its mission "To Promote the Effective Use of Geographic Information in the State of California." CGIA lead the initiative for the Strategic Geographic Information Investment Act, actively promoting AB 1293 and AB 3431 in the California legislature. We organized an effort to enhance and promote a metadata clearinghouse for California. We have worked with surveyors to formulate an effective policy that more clearly defines the roles and responsibilities of both our professions. CGIA expertise has contributed to the success of regional collaborative efforts such as the New Valley Connexions program, a partnership of the Great Valley Center and the California Trade and Commerce Agency.»
