| The Artist's Book:Unlimited Engagement | ||
| San Francisco Center for the Book. «This exhibit marks the culmination of a year-long class dedicated to sustained inquiry into the nature of the artist's book. What exactly is an artist's book and how has that definition evolved over the past 100 years? How does a book's visual form, material elaboration, and physical structure continue the writing and enrich the interpretation of its "text?" Responses to these questions have produced substantial and complex works using original texts, experimental materials and structural inventions. From the beauty of math, to the tricks of memory, the subjects shaping these books embody the intensity of their makers' involvement.» EEUU - inglés |

| The Arts of Fire: Islamic Influences on the Italian Renaissance | ||
| John Paul Getty Museum. «Glass and ceramics are often united under the term "arts of fire" because of the heat required to create them. Glass is melted and shaped in a furnace, becoming rigid when it cools, while soft clay is shaped, dried, and then hardened in an oven called a kiln. They also share an ancient history because both are used to make functional products: jars for storage, vessels for dining, and beads and figurines of symbolic and ritual significance.» Internacional Italia |

| The Business of Art: Evidence from the Art Market | ||
| John Paul Getty Museum. «The business of art is conducted much like any other commercial venture in which something is bought, sold, or traded, and yet a work of art is not a commodity in the ordinary sense. Its value can fluctuate radically in an instant, depending on the influence of collectors, dealers, curators, critics, or connoisseurs. Their assessments of historic, intellectual, and aesthetic values affect a work's monetary value in the marketplace.» EEUU - inglés Internacional |

| The Hand Bookbinders of California's 29th Annual Members Exhibition | ||
| San Francisco Center for the Book. «Books from as far away as Syracuse, New York, were displayed in glass cases in the store windows and in a case along the shop wall. To enhance the book display, as well as to grace the walls, Margaret Johnson loaned a framed poster of the "The Great Omar," the historic binding which went down with the Titanic, and Judy Houghteling loaned three framed marbled papers: Hikmet Barutcugil of Istanbul, Eva van Breugel of the Netherlands, and Tom Leese of Colorado. The books dazzled, the lights sparkled, and the shop looked elegant and inviting.» EEUU - inglés |

| The Making of a Medieval Book | ||
| John Paul Getty Museum. «The Making of a Medieval Book explores the materials and techniques used to create the lavishly illuminated manuscripts produced in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. The images in these handwritten texts are called illuminations because of the radiant glow created by the gold, silver, and other colors. The exhibition examines the four stages involved in the making of a medieval book: parchment making, writing, illumination, and binding.» Europa |

| The Medieval Bestseller: Illuminated Books of Hours | ||
| John Paul Getty Museum. «Books of hours contain devotional texts designed to aid private prayer, and they were often lavishly illuminated. Because no other book was created in greater quantity in the late Middle Ages, the book of hours has come to be called the medieval bestseller. This exhibition from the Getty's permanent collection explores manuscripts dating from the mid-1100s to the mid-1500s, including illuminated books of hours and their earlier monastic precursors, psalters and breviaries.» Europa |

| World Myths and Legends in Art | ||
| The Minneapolis Institute of Arts. «Myths are stories that explain why the world is the way it is. All cultures have them. Throughout history, artists have been inspired by myths and legends and have given them visual form. Sometimes these works of art are the only surviving record of what particular cultures believed and valued. But even where written records or oral traditions exist, art adds to our understanding of myths and legends.» EEUU - inglés Internacional |
