Enlace: http://www.oscars.org/filmarchive/index.html Descripción: «The Academy Film Archive contains over 15,000 film and video items dating from the earliest era of the cinema to the latest achievements in visual effects, and representing the Academy's various areas of interest and activity over the years. In addition to works of masters such as Griffith, Chaplin and Keaton, the Archive has films by pioneers Lumiere and Melies, and the Paper Print Collection of early motion pictures, while the breadth of the silent film period is covered in the Blackhawk collection. The Academy War Film Collection, which originated in the Academy's public service during World War II, is now an important historical resource. In response to the crisis in the preservation of non-fiction film, the Archive and the International Documentary Association established the IDA/Academy Documentary Center to collect, preserve and study non-fiction film-making, and has been able bring over 2,000 documentary films under archival protection to date.» |
