«RAPHAEL AND HIS CIRCLE: DRAWINGS FROM WINDSOR CASTLE features sixty-six drawings on loan from Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II selected from the magnificent collection of old master drawings and watercolors in the Royal Library at Windsor Castle. The drawings exemplify the principles of composition, types of figure drawing, and systems of workshop collaboration Raphael developed. These elements of his work set the standard for much of the next four centuries and made his famous large-scale compositions possible. Works by artists who influenced him will also be on view, along with those by Raphael's assistants who spread interpretations of his work throughout Italy. RAPHAEL AND HIS INFLUENCE ACROSS THE CENTURIES complements the exhibition with drawings from the Getty's own collection.»
