Descripción: Museum of Fine Arts, Borton.
«The Department of Prints, Drawings, and Photographs, which originated in 1887, houses a vast, encyclopedic collection of works on paper -- prints, drawings, watercolors, photographs, illustrated books and posters of American and European origin dating from the 15th century to the present day. It is unquestionably one of the world’s major print rooms measured by standards of both size and artistic significance. The better-known graphic artists, such as Dürer, Rembrandt, and Goya are represented by a rich collection of prints, as well as by important drawings. The collection of watercolors, including works by William Blake, Winslow Homer, and John Singer Sargent attract viewers from across and the country and around the world.»
«The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, was one of the earliest museums in the country to collect photography, initiated in 1924 when Alfred Stieglitz donated twenty-seven of his photographs. This donation stimulated other gifts, in particular photographs by Stieglitz's contemporaries Clarence White and Frederick Evans, as well as a second group of Stieglitz photographs presented by Georgia O’Keeffe in 1950.»
