Descripción: Universidade de Coimbra «It was founded in 1994 and it constitutes the framework of the scientific activities of all the members of the Department. Its main objective is to contribute for the advance of Science and Technology in the Chemical Engineering areas of research. Special attention is given to a specific field within the Chemical Process Engineering area ? the Engineering of Forest Products ? particularly important for a country like Portugal in which the forest covers a major part of the territory and unique, since it was the only Research Centre in Portugal that elected this field as a priority to its activities. Within the general areas, the Centre develops research activities in Chemical Thermodynamics, Applied Catalysis and Chemical Reaction Engineering, Particulate Processes, Biochemistry and Biotechnology and Process Systems Engineering, including Numerical Methods, Optimisation and Control.»
