«Research is focused on Computer Integrated Manufacturing and Flexible Manufacturing Systems, addressing in particular: Automatic Control, Industrial Robotics and Industrial Management.
The research on Automatic Control deals with design methods for industrial application which require flexible manufacturing systems. This activity is specifically concerned with cell organization, together with programming and control, which includes the introduction of intelligent systems that enables efficient and more flexible production. It also carries out research activities in biomechanical areas with emphasis on the analysis of sound with a neonatal environment. Industrial Robotics is a relatively new field of research within the Group.
Our main interests in the area are force control, programmability, and integration with other cell equipment, solely by developing a framework for overall cell programming. Methods for adding force control to industrial robots are being researched, their application being aimed at industrial use. Industrial management research deals with industrial and non-industrial companies.
The main objective of the former is to develop new frameworks for logistics management, in order to provide adequate models for the integration of production, distribution, inventory and marketing decisions, create supplier/client relationships, and produce an effective accounting system for logistics chains.
The later produces tools for maintenance management and control. With this aim in mind, methodologies to measure healthcare system productivity are being analyzed and developed.»
