«Medicine is increasingly based on scientific evidence emerging from information and knowledge produced both in medical practice and research studies. More specifically, health technologies assessment studies and decision analysis in health rely on data and methods derived from computer sciences and biostatistics.
Within this framework CINTESIS was created following a vision of harbouring synergetic multidisciplinary research work in order to gather the necessary critical mass to contribute to improving health care and education. In particular, CINTESIS research vision focuses both on (a) the development of methods and tools and on (b) the design and implementation of evaluation studies dealing with the collection, storage, coding, classification, processing, analysis, presentation, sharing and interpretation of biomedical data, information and knowledge.»
