«The general objective of the unit is the study of fundamental aspects of soil surface/lower atmosphere interface and of the processes of soil evolution, whether natural or related to soil management. Simultaneously the unit pursues the development of basic areas of knowledge and its application to land use, and agricultural and forestry production systems, providing information as regards most suitable and efficient management systems of soil and water resources.»
