«The mission of BERG is to carry out research and education in advanced biotechnology and bioengineering, integrating molecular and cell biology with engineering sciences. At the research level, the goal of BERG is to perform fundamental studies in gene, protein and cellular biotechnology that will contribute for a better understanding of the biochemical mechanisms that occur at the molecular and cellular level in bioprocess fluids and bioreactors. These fundamental studies are translated into specific applications for the industrial (Industrial -White- Bioengineering) and health (Medical -Red- Bioengineering) sectors.»
