«Yabotí is located in the Brazilian rainforest biogeographical region. The biosphere reserve constitutes a rich subtropical forest ecosystem, with a high diversity of species in the herbaceous, underwood and tree layers. It also contains riparian (gallery) forests and numerous watercourses. The fauna is diverse, including many endangered, and rare species of reptiles, birds and mammals, particularly those of economic importance rendered rare through illegal trafficking.»
